(Baltimore County, MD) -- A Baltimore County woman will spend decades in prison for the 2022 death of her one-year-old daughter.
Twenty-four-year-old Aurielle Montgomery has been sentenced to 40 years with all but 22 years suspended.
After serving time, she will be on five years of probation and must undergo mental health screenings and substance abuse treatment.
Montgomery was arrested after police responded to her home for an unresponsive child.
Medics pronounced Nyemia Gilliard dead and the Medical Examiner's Office ruled that she died from blunt force trauma.
Montgomery pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
