(Baltimore, MD) -- Mayor Brandon Scott says Baltimore's Safe Streets Penn North site has not recorded a homicide in the catchment area for a year.
The Penn North site has conducted more than 108 successful mediations and held 45 community events to bring resources into the community and spread anti-violence messaging.
The mayor says the Safe Streets initiative has helped to reduce violence across the city and the Penn North site going more than 365 days without a homicide is another example that community violence intervention works.
In 2025, Safe Streets violence interrupters mediated more than 1,700 potentially violent conflicts across all ten sites.
