Baltimore County officer taken to Shock trauma following shooting in Pikesville

(Pikesville, MD) -- A Baltimore County Police officer is being treated at Shock Trauma after being shot in Pikesville just be fore 9 a.m. Sunday.

Police were called to a trail off of Milford Mill Road to investigate a report of a suspicious person and indecent exposure incident.

When officers arrived, an armed man opened fire and police exchanged gunfire with the suspect.

A police officer, the suspect and a bystander were injured and taken to hospitals.

The officer and the suspect are being treated at Shock Trauma.

The bystander is expected to recover from their injuries.

Officials say the officer involved has been with the Department for one and a half years.
